The Qing Dynasty that was founded by the Manzhu people was the second ethnic group to rule the whole of China．Because bf beina anomadic and martial tribe，the arts of costumes in the Qing Dynasty were characteristic of closing fitting，simple and convenient for horsemanship or arrow shooting．Its style differed g reatly from the culture tradition of dress of Han Chinese people．
The Manzhu emperors had distinctive understanding of their own national costume．Special attention was paid to in he ritance and development of their national clothes because the rulers reaIized that clothes were not on IY their ancestor. Siradition．also an important factor to consolidate full control over he conquered Han Chinese race．The Chinese costume in the Qing period that had a a reat in fiuence to modern Chinese thing was in fact the most cumber some and over elaborated regulations in compa rison with p roceeding dynasties．
