People are likely to be inspired by myths and legends. Christopher Paolini， the author of Eragon， Eldest and Brisingr， wrote a lot of Norse legends in his books. He was inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings， which was also based on Norse legends.
