　　《观海文丛·华东师范大学外语学院学者文库：当代美国编史性元小说中的政治介入》以“编史性元小说”这种典型的后现代主义文类为考察对象，从新历史主义的批评视角出发，深入探讨美国晚期后现代主义文学中的政治转向。文学与历史、政治之间从来都是有着千丝万缕的关联，相互影响，彼此映射。政治事件，尤其是标志性的政治事件，从来都是作家密切关注和力求书写的对象。《观海文丛·华东师范大学外语学院学者文库：当代美国编史性元小说中的政治介入》选取多克特罗的《但理以书》、库弗的《火刑示众》和德里罗的《天秤星座》为研究对象，将这三部最具代表性的“编史性元小说”置入上世纪冷战时期的“罗森堡间谍案”和“肯尼迪遇刺”这两个事件的历史背景和作家写作当时所处的政治氛围中进行解读。在文本细读的基础上，《观海文丛·华东师范大学外语学院学者文库：当代美国编史性元小说中的政治介入》考察了3部作品中重返历史、书写政治事件、介入现实政治生活等共同特征，揭示出当代美国编史性元小说并非“去政治”而是“介入政治”。
