傅伟良，北京第二外国语学院英语系副教授。1986-1990年在国际工程项目（其中包括上亿美元的工程项目）中全面负责公司的经营管理、合同谈判、合同管理、索赔以及有关文件的编写工作。1990年回国后在北京第二外国语学院任教，用英语主讲国际经济英语、英语经济报刊阅读和对外经贸合同写作等课程，并积极倡导外语、专业知识及有关国际经济法知识三位一体的教学模式。多次应邀在省部级单位做关于国际工程承包的讲学。主要著作有《星条旗下的争斗》、《实用国际金融英语》、《英语经济报刊精读》、《读透英美经济报刊》等。

　　本书主要分析英文法律条款的英语语言句构特点及其区别于普通英语语言的点睛用词，进而探讨法律英语的英译中的要领。
　　法律语言有别于日常生活中的交流语言，也有别于文学语言和商务语言，造成这种语言差别的主要因素有两点。一是法律英语句构严谨，严谨到不能有一点儿松动，无懈可击，也就是说，严谨到多一字不可，少一字不行的地步。为此，形成了法律语言一些独有的表达句构。二是用词准确、正规、明白，力求避免产生歧义和鱼目混珠，为此，也形成了独特的词法和用词习惯。本书从这两方面人手，深入分析用词和句构，探求其是如何维护法律语言的尊严和权威的。
　　本书通过分析具体的条款实例，探究法律英语中的同义词、同义词连用、副词等词法的特点；分析条款中定语、状语、表语、同位语的句位特征及其表述功能，最终引领读者研究法律英语的英译中的翻译技巧。
　　本书是作者多年法律英语教学的总结，也是从事法律英语翻译实践的经验之谈；可供对外经济从业人员，合资企业的合同管理人员和有关院校研究法律英语的师生参考；也可用作高等院校英语翻译专业及对外经济、法律等专业的英语教材。
