作者简介

　　赖世雄，闻名海峡两岸的英语教学专家，先后获得美国明尼苏达大学大众传播与英语教学双硕士学位。担任托福专任讲师十八年，也是托福成绩满分纪录保持人之一。曾任上海复旦大学及大连外国语学院客座教授。现任常春藤解析英语杂志社社长，著有英语升学、进修、生活英语丛书共计两百余种，并担任十多家电台英语教学节目广播主讲。　　1993年赖世雄教授开始担任中央人民广播电台英语教学节目主播，时间长达十二年，教学方式风趣幽默、深入浅出、平易近人，深受广大听众的推崇。　　2003年赖教授经由《中国图书商报》评选为中国英语教学十大名师之一。2004年至今担任北京市政府主办英语活动之主讲教授。　　赖教授深入研究英语教学，对广大英语学习者的需求有极为透彻的了解，长期以来受邀至各地演讲，不遗余力地给读者传授英语学习的经验。

　　文坛巨擘——哈金　　A Literary Great ——Ha Jin　　Part 2　　In 1977， colleges across China opened their doors again. Ha Jin excitedly took and passed the exams and was accepted into Heilongjiang University in Harbin， where， to his disappointment， he was assigned to study English literature. After completing his Bachelor's degree in English in 1981， Ha Jin continued his studies， and by 1984 he held an MA in English literature. Shortly thereafter， he left for the United States to begin a PhD program at Brandeis University.　　Ha Jin had every intention of returning to China; however， he ended up staying in the United States， deciding that his family would be better off there. Unable to get a university teaching job， he found work as a night watchman and a busboy. It was only after he had published several pieces that Emory University in Atlanta offered him his first teaching job.　　Now， as a novelist， short-story writer， and poet， he has more than six books under his belt. Additionally， he has been awarded some of the most prestigious literary prizes in the US. Becoming a writer was never Ha Jin's plan， yet this is the path he has taken. Though he knew writing in English would be lonely and difficult， he was determined to see how far he could go. Now， the sky's the limit for this literary great.　　1977年，中国的大学纷纷复课。哈金很兴奋地参加考试，考上了哈尔滨省的黑龙江大学；但令他失望的是，他被分配主修英国文学。1981年完成英文学士学位后，哈金继续学业，于1984年获得英国文学的硕士学位。不久后他便前往美国，到布兰迪斯大学攻读博士。　　哈金一心想回中国，然而到头来还是待在美国，他认为家人在美国生活可以过得更好。他未能在大学谋得教职，于是担任夜间看守员并到餐厅打杂。直到他出版了几部作品，亚特兰大的埃默里大学才提供他第一份教职。　　而今，哈金集长短篇小说作家及诗人身份于一身，出版了六本以上的作品，并获得美国最具声望的几个文学奖。成为作家从来不是哈金计划中的事，却成为他所走的道路。虽然他知道以英语写作会很孤单很艰难，他却决心要看自己能走多远。现在看来，这位文坛巨擘的前途不可限量。　　……
