We live in a technology age that has yielded many different outlets for media to convey information to adults and their children. There is a big controversy over the censorship of these media in order to protect and shelter the children. Censorship should not be imposed on citizens by the government or other agencies because adults have a right to view or listen to what they choose. However, what children are exposed to should be controlled and regulated by their parents. It is their responsibility to monitor what their children watch on television as well as what they hear on the radio and CDS. Censorship includes the examination and blocking of books, periodicals, plays, films, television, radio programs, news reports, and other communication media that is shown, or available, to the public. Media censorship is sometimes put into place because the content is immoral or obscene, heretical or blasphemous, seditious or treasonable, or injurious to the national security.
