《焚书》共6卷，是哲学与文学著作。书中收录了明朝著名思想家、文学家李贽生前所写的书信、杂著、史评、诗文、读史短文等，这些作品较为全面地阐释了李贽的政治思想和哲学思想，因此《焚书》也是研究李贽生平和思想的重要著作。目前《焚书》在国内尚未有英译本，在国外也暂无全译本。本书译著者系统整理了《焚书》的内容，对选编作品进行了注解，并把作品翻译成英文。这本英汉对照读本的出版不仅对中国哲学思想史研究有着重大贡献，也有助于在海外推广与传播优秀中华传统文化。
