《园林专业英语》是园林专业的一门必修课。通过该课程的学习，可以使学生学习并掌握一定数量的园林专业英语词汇，了解本专业发展动态，熟悉获取本专业英文资料的基本方法及科技英文文献的文体结构及写作规范，掌握常见的专业词汇、句型结构、专业知识的表述方法及英汉翻译技巧，使学生具备能够阅读和翻译英文专业文献的能力，实现专业英语学习与专业知识的拓展、英语应用与英语水平提高的目标。为学生熟练阅读和理解专业英语资料，从事专业英语翻译、写作及接受高层次的学历教育奠定基础。为此，本教程主要针对农林院校园林专业的特点，在选择方面力求题材广泛，覆盖园林专业课程的主要内容，在语言难易程度上切合当前大学生英语实际水平。
